"Something Mystical' how it began...
'Something Mystical' was born from a love of mystical things and a desire to share this interest with the world. For as long as I can remember I have had a belief in the mystical elements of our world, a knowing of both the seen and the unseen magic that surrounds us each and every day.
It was nearing the end of 2020, the worldwide community was increasingly unsettled by a newly recognised virus and the global energy was exceptionally heightened at the thought of a future unknown....In Queensland, Australia we had been through periods of lockdowns, it was a time of relative freedom and we were making the most of the sunshine and fresh air, walking through the main tourism area where we live. A visitor to the mountain stopped and asked me if the fairy shop was still trading to which I replied no, this exchange left me thinking about how magical the mystical world was and how it appealed to all ages.
A discussion with my Husband that night had me saying how I would love a shop that had a magical theme to which he replied, “you mean something mystical”, in that exact moment the spark that is ‘Something Mystical’ was ignited…That same night I registered the business name and secured the domain, from there I began to consider what items I would like to share and the general theme of the products (mystical of course). The next step was developing a website and purchasing stock, www.somethingymystical.com.au went live on 01.01.21 with an assortment of books, crystals and chip bracelets. During this past year more items have been added including handmade items crafted in the tranquil surroundings on Tamborine Mountain, gemstone bead bracelets and soy melts are just the beginning of the mystically themed handmade / craft items to come.
It is just shy of a year of trading and the business continues to evolve and morph into the true representation of the mystical world that I want to share, the website has had a freshen up with a consideration of colours and continuity throughout the site and will be relaunched on 01.01.2022 at 12:00am (which is the awesome number of 11, love it!!). I have a lovely studio space surrounded by nature, a place to create in that is perfectly positioned to soak up the energy of the natural surroundings and tranquillity that is so unique to the mountain.
In considering the future of Something Mystical, my desire is that it continues to encourage people to learn about and consider the mystical energies that are all around us. This unseen universe can help us to grow and embrace the uniqueness within ourselves, when we trust in the unexplained magic that surrounds us more often than not, balance, peace and calm can find us.
