An introduction to Mystical Mountain Co’s Creator 😊
Hello! I have been working away behind the scenes for the past few years and I figured it was time to introduce myself to those who don’t already know me, so here goes…
My name is Jodi, my great loves are my people (being a wife & mum), working in the garden, the full moon and butterflies / dragonflies / bees. I have a Gemini sun and moon with Scorpio rising, this means, that I can pretty much talk to anyone about anything however, disclosing things about myself is not something I do lightly so this sharing thing is an absolute challenge for me!
For as long as I can remember I have had an interest in the mystical elements of our universe and the concept that there are unseen energies at play around us. The discovery of a football sized tumour in my chest when I was 25 which lead to a cancer diagnosis further increased my interest in the unseen, mystical world we are part of.
After my treatment, recovery and journey into remission I had a strong desire to understand myself better. This lead me to Astrology…studying this ancient subject took me on a journey of self discovery. I found that getting to know my astrological make up helped me to understand my light and shadow parts, giving me a deep acceptance of both my short comings and my exceptional strengths, this interest is still evolving today through continual study / research with a focus on natal astrology.
Since I was a child I have always collected rocks and crystals and I enjoy learning about the metaphysical properties of these natural creations. This love is shared through the handmade gemstone bracelets I create and, it never ceases to amaze me how a person is drawn to the stone that they need, the surprise and realisation when they read a description card makes me smile every time.
Another love is creating candles, this passion began back in 2010 with the purchase of my first candle making kit. Back then, it was all about bright colour and using popular fragrances to market to the masses however, now, it is more about creating small candle batches with fragrances that evoke thoughts of the beautiful, mystical mountain that I live on. The analytical side of me also thoroughly enjoys the science of creating the perfectly scented candle that burns evenly and calmly every time.
Crafting & creating has always been a part of my world, it settles my energy and helps me find calm with in the busy rhythm of life, the creations are usually reflective of my life at the time, e.g. hand-created hair bows which are inspired by my daughter’s beautiful long hair and love of all things pretty. 💕
Well, I hope this is a good start in getting to know the person behind the products and gives you a picture of why all things mystical are an integral part of my life.
